The Structured Improvisation™

PACT Training's High Impact Drama-Based Exercise

Role plays take real-life experiences and turn them into exercises.
Structured Improvisations™ take exercises and turn them into real-life experiences.

What distinguishes PACT from all other training is its exclusive exercise - the Structured Improvisation™ - a high-impact training simulation that realistically projects the culture, language, attitude, strengths and weaknesses of the organization. Structured Improvisations™ bring systemic problems into view and reveal individual tendencies and attitudes that may be intensifying these problems.

Structured Improvisations™:

  • Reflect participants' work setting and functions
  • Highlight particular issues and theories
  • Integrate specific training objectives
  • Free participants to concentrate on skills development

In a Structured Improvisation™, skilled trainers portray co-workers, subordinates, superiors and clients. They create an experience that looks, sounds, feels and is real. Once the action starts, participants enter the exercise as themselves, in their professional capacities.

Now, fully immersed in the action, they practice handling the situation by applying their newly learned skills. During the Structured Improvisation™, PACT trainers react instantly and believably to what the participants do. They validate appropriate actions and re-direct inappropriate actions.

PACT facilitators control the exercise by stopping the action, coaching, changing participants and involving the audience at pivotal points. This is how PACT achieves a genuine transfer of learning that's directly applicable to each participant's day-in, day-out realities.

Participating in a PACT program is a visual and visceral experience. The audience absorbs the material, locks onto the visual themes and feels the emotional impact of the action.

Not just educated, but empowered.
